PreS—These board books have vibrant colors, simple repetitive texts, and concepts that young children will comprehend. In the first title, Little Bear asks for something (paper, a brush, etc.), Mama Bear gives it to him, and he thanks her. The ending is perfect with the cub creating a gift for her, using the art supplies she has provided. In the second title, Mom and Hippo are fitting themselves into crowded spaces, from a bus stop, to a bus, to an elevator. Each time, the other animals are obviously uncomfortable, but Hippo always politely says, "Excuse me!" These books are perfect for one-on-one sharing or reading to a small group.—Lora Van Marel, Orland Park Public Library, IL
